For information on 'what is permitted' and 'what is not permitted'
within our cemetery grounds, please refer to The Cheltenham &
Regional Cemeteries Trust Mementos Policy.
A temporary grave marker supplied by the cemetery will be placed at
burial locations up to a period of 4 months from the date of interment.
Burial
- Perpetuity - All graves purchased are in 'Perpetuity' (forever).
- Deed holder
- Holds the 'Right of Interment' to use a particular grave for the
interment of deceased remains and display a memorial tribute.
All graves are part of cemetery property and the property always remains with the cemetery.
Cremation
- Perpetuity - All positions purchased are in 'Perpetuity' (forever).
- Deed holder
- Holds the 'Right of Interment' to use a particular memorial position
for the interment of deceased remains and display a memorial tribute.
All memorial positions are part of cemetery property and the property always remains with the cemetery.
Important
- Please remember to advise the cemetery office of any change of address and contact details.
- The
'Right of Interment' can be transferred to another person upon
notification to The Cemetery Trust in writing, notification to be
accompanied by the relevant fee. The new 'Right of Interment' cannot be
exercised until the new deed has been issued.
- Cleaning and maintenance of any memorial is the responsibility of the family of the deceased.
- The
Cheltenham & Regional Cemeteries Trust reserves the right to change
regulations at its discretion and reserves the right to specify
different regulations and restrict the use of monuments and memorials
in defined areas of the cemetery.
- Bunurong Memorial Park,
Cheltenham Memorial Park and Cheltenham Pioneer Cemetery are
administered by The Trustees of The Cheltenham & Regional
Cemeteries Trust under the authority of the Cemeteries Act 2003 and
regulations.
Registration of Interest in a "Right of Interment"
You may register an interest in a specific "Right of Interment" if
the registered "Right of Interment" holder is deceased and you provide
documentary evidence of that persons death and that you are a direct
descendent of the last registered "Right of Interment" holder. Any
interest so registered will be held jointly and severally with other
registered interested persons.
Bunurong Memorial Park is administered by The Trustees of Cheltenham
& Regional Cemeteries Trust under the authority of the Cemeteries
Act 1958 and regulations.
