Arranging a Funeral
When a loved one passes away, there are many decisions that must be made. Your Funeral Director is best equipped to assist you in making the necessary arrangements. The Funeral Director will liaise with Bunurong on your behalf to arrange either burial or cremation services.
Bunurong Memorial Park welcomes visits from families who wish to view our facilities before making a decision. Families are encouraged to call beforehand to make sure that the amenities they wish to view will not be in use when they arrive. Any enquiries will be handled with professional care and understanding by our helpful staff. "What would they have wanted?" We all find ourselves asking, if arrangements haven't been made in advance.
What should a funeral include?
We all want to create a service that we feel honours and celebrates the life of the deceased in a personal and individual way. At Bunurong we have the facilities and flexibility to make every service as unique as the person you're commemorating.
There are no hard and fast rules as to what constitutes a funeral, families are free to commemorate the life of the deceased in any way they like provided they adhere to the health and safety regulations and the terms of use of the cemetery. Our caring and knowledgeable staff can certainly help you with suggestions, if you wish.
Funeral and Memorial Services
We all want to create a service that we imagine the deceased would have enjoyed. At Bunurong, we have the facilities and flexibility to make every service as unique as the person you're commemorating.
The first step in formalising remembrance of your loved one is the memorial service. Whether you choose cremation or burial, a service in Bunurong's Weeroona Chapel is offered without charge.
With space for up to 150 people (including seating for 60) and state-of-the-art event management technology at your fingertips, you can run the service as you wish - playing music, projecting images, relaying video footage on the two large screens, cueing audio readings or creating your own slide show.

Funeral Catering
Organising your own refreshments following the funeral can be an added stress at a difficult time. Our Condolence Lounges adjacent to the chapel can be available for families to use after the service. Friends and relatives are able to gather there and enjoy either complimentary coffee, tea and biscuits or items from our extensive catering menu. Ask your funeral organiser about lounge availability, menus and price lists.
