What is a Mausoleum?

ELEGANCE AND SECURITY
Above ground entombment has been a respected and popular memorial choice since before the time of Christ. Now, a burial crypt in our Mausoleum allows families to choose above ground entombment in single or double crypts in an interior or exterior environment.

With garden aspects or overlooking the Memorial Garden and lake, exterior placements are faced with solid granite to suggest the permanence of remembrance in an ever-changing world.

Set against a backdrop of gentle music and soft grey marble, interior placements are set in an environment of inspiration as well as comfort. Central to the interior hall is a glass mural reproduction of Giovanni Donato Montorfano's c.1495 fresco from the refectory of the Milan's Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie. A reminder of Christ's sacrifice on the cross, this stirring work is a fitting centrepiece for this light filled interior space.

As well as offering above ground burial, the Courtyard of the Pietà Mausoleum provides niches for cremated remains. Fronted by elegant polished stone or marble panels, these discreet niches are in keeping with the classical surrounds of the Mausoleum.

Whether an interior or exterior position is chosen, the same high standard of 24 hours security and intimate space is available and while the Mausoleum offers a very private environment for visiting family and friends, it offers the benefit of being completely maintenance free making it a private space to reflect and remember with perfect peace of mind.

What should I know about The Courtyard of the Pietà mausoleum?

• The mausoleum has 24 hour security and is constantly maintained by Park staff.
• There is no tenure or ongoing fees for mausoleum crypts.
• Each crypt includes a vigil light and vase.
• You can choose between an exterior crypt overlooking the Memorial Garden and Lake or an interior location where gentle music is constantly playing in the background.

Options for Exterior and Interior Crypts

Size	Single crypts include space for one interment. Double crypts include space for two interments. Side by side crypts include space for two interments.
Materials	The crypt front can be made from: Australian white marble; starlight grey granite; or blue pearl granite.
