Welcome to Bunurong Memorial Park
About Bunurong Memorial Park
Bunurong Memorial Park as a division of The Cheltenham and Regional Cemeteries Trust is community owned. The park covers over 120 hectares and has been designed to meet the growing need for cemetery space for many years to come. Bunurong caters to the needs of a wide range of religious and community groups. With an onsite crematorium, Le Page lawn cemetery, headstone memorials and cremation memorials, Bunurong meets a wide variety of funeral needs. The Weeroona Chapel, a contemporary space for memorial services and our condolence lounges which allow for fully catered functions are available also.
Bunurong Memorial Park is open to the public seven days a week. Vehicle gates open at 8am and close at sunset. An objective here at Bunurong is to have a soft, green and peaceful environment. To achieve this, the lawns and cultivated areas are irrigated with recycled Class C waste water which is sourced from the Melbourne Water Corporation's Eastern Treatment Plant. With 2007 upon us and the summer in full swing our gardeners are utilizing this grey water resource and keeping our park looking its best.
Bunurong has had a minor growth spurt with new automatic doors installed at reception, a ramp for disabled access, larger air conditioners in the lounges to cope with our hot summers and new toilets on the way. On the outside, we are gearing up to create additional Genesis Garden beds along the front fence and to develop the lake edge adjacent to the Fu Shou Yuan area.

Where Nature's Beauty Gives Peace of Mind
Set across 120 hectares of beautifully landscaped gardens and lakes in the midst of established farmland, Bunurong is the perfect place for peaceful reflection. The architect-designed Weeroona Chapel and Condolence Lounges glow with natural light and allow tranquil views of the memorial gardens and lakes.
Where Meeting Your Wishes Is Our Priority
There is a wide variety of burial and cremation options that take into account the needs of specific religious and cultural groups. Traditional memorial options such as full monumental headstones are offered alongside alternatives such as above ground entombment in the Courtyard of the Pieta Mausoleum or the Feng Shui designed Fushouyuan Garden, popular for Asian burials or interment.
Where You Can Have a Memorial for Eternity
Memorials here at Bunurong Memorial Park are for 'In Perpetuity' (forever). Pre-purchasing your memorial positions means you have the option of paying the one purchase price now and hold that position forever.
Where Do I Begin?
If you have just lost someone or you're pre-planning your own funeral, here's a plan of the choices you'll need to make:
- Choose a funeral director
- Decide on burial or cremation
- Settle on a style of funeral service
- Choose a location within the Park
- Choose a style of memorial (this will depend on whether you decide on cremation or burial). See the burial and cremation sections to see the types of memorials available.*
